When someone decides to move to Florida, it’s a big decision.
Most people have a general idea—east coast or west coast.
But beyond that, it gets a little murky unless you’ve spent real time here.
If you’re focused on Florida’s west coast, that’s where I start.
Not with houses -- With lifestyle.
Because living on the beach, being in downtown St. Petersburg, or landing in one of the many pockets in between are completely different day-to-day experiences. Sometimes even Tampa is the best option.
St. Petersburg especially is very neighborhood-y. There are pockets all over the area with their own feel, pace, and culture—and some of those fit people immediately once you find the right one.
And I don’t rush that part.
By the time people reach out, they’re usually excited. The decision to move has already been made. But narrowing it down takes a little more time—especially if it’s a couple working through it together.
For families moving to Florida, schools are a big part of that conversation too. Between public options and a wide range of private schools throughout the Tampa Bay area, that decision alone can shape where it makes sense to focus.
So we slow it down. Usually one or two conversations just to get clear.
I’ll send a relocation guide for St. Petersburg, but more importantly, I want to understand what your life has looked like up to this point. That tells me a lot more than a list of home features.
Anyone can find a house.
You can go on Zillow, click a button, pick one out, fall in love with the kitchen…
…and then realize you’re next to a busy road, across from a commercial strip, or in an area that just doesn’t feel right once you’re living there.
Getting the location right—that’s what actually determines whether it works.
